HOW IT ALL BEGAN...

Maren has always been the person who makes things happen.

She grew up right here in Davis County, Utah. From a young age she was the one in her friend group who had everything planned, every detail covered, every person taken care of. Road trips with friends meant color-coded binders, slide presentations with every option mapped out, and spreadsheets making sure everyone had their accommodations booked, their routes planned, and their costs split down to the dollar. It was never a burden to her. She loved every second of it.

She went to college at Weber State, graduating with a degree in chemistry, with plans to become a doctor. She wanted to help people the way doctors had helped her and her family throughout her life. She earned a full-ride scholarship to a new medical school and went. But the circumstances surrounding a brand new institution are complicated in ways nobody fully anticipates, and after navigating more than her fair share of those challenges, she made the decision to come home.

Coming home was not easy, especially for someone who always had a plan and a backup plan and a color-coded binder for both. She had spent her entire life being three steps ahead. Now, for the first time, she had no idea where she was going.

It turns out she was going exactly where she was supposed to.

Not long after coming home she got engaged. And somewhere between planning her own wedding, her twin sister's wedding, and a handful of friends' weddings all at the same time, something became very clear. This was what she was built for. She managed the timelines, the vendors, the budgets, the family dynamics, the last minute changes, and the inevitable chaos that comes with any wedding. She kept everything moving and everyone calm. Most people would have been overwhelmed. Maren was completely in her element.

After getting married she relocated to Utah County for her husband's work. She took a position at a chemistry lab. The science was interesting but she was miserable. Maren needs people. She needs to be in rooms with people, solving problems for people, making things beautiful for people. A lab could not give her that.

So she pivoted. She connected with a local wedding planner and spent a year apprenticing. She learned how to navigate vendor relationships and negotiate contracts. She learned the intricacies of different ceremony styles across different cultures and religions. She learned how to read a room, manage a timeline under pressure, and keep a wedding day on track when things inevitably do not go according to plan. She was a natural. Her mentor saw it immediately.

With his full blessing she moved back home to Davis County and launched Miramour.

The same instincts that made her the person everyone counted on are the same instincts she brings to every single wedding she plans. The attention to detail. The calm under pressure. The genuine love of making sure every person in the room feels completely taken care of.

She has been absolutely crushing it ever since.
